An internship at Greear Kramer Monaghan offers an exciting opportunity to take your first steps into public accounting and perform staff accountant level tax work while gaining vital experience within the accounting industry. With some coaching from your coworkers, you will learn the internal processes of our firm, tax procedures, operations of tax software, and how to manage your time effectively while working on multiple projects. Our internship is designed to give you a clear picture of what the world of public accounting looks like and prepare you for future success. This position offers a terrific opportunity to merge the knowledge you’ve accumulated through college courses with real life scenarios to provide exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

 An intern at Greear Kramer Monaghan will perform a multitude of tasks including, but not limited to, federal and state income tax returns, multi-state tax returns, retirement planning, tax planning, research technical tax issues, and potential for business workpaper preparation.

 

As an Intern, you will utilize all our accounting software programs and build on prior MS Office Suite knowledge. You will begin to develop working relationships with coworkers and learn internal procedures. With guidance from a mentor, you will learn how to manage time effectively, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

·       Must be working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and have a plan for attaining 150 semester/225 quarter college credits to be eligible to sit for the CPA Exam

·       Must be available to work up to 30+ hours/week from mid-January through April 15, 2024 (schedule can vary from week to week)

·       Knowledge of common office software (MS Office Suite)

·       Must be dependable and have high integrity with a strong attention to detail

·       Capable of learning new tasks and software quickly, such as internal procedures and accounting and research tools

·       Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

·       Have strong problem solving and analytical skills

·       Highly motived, self-starter who enjoys collaborating with coworkers

·       Ability to set realistic goals with the desire to achieve them

·       Be apt to work under supervision, listening and apply coaching
